Just in time for the spooky season, the Boise State University Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing stage John Heimbuch's adaptation of Washington Irving's classic tale, directed by Darrin J. Pufall Purdy. A Halloween favorite, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow concerns the titular town as it is terrorized by a horrifying Headless Horseman. It's up to the gentle school teacher Ichabod Crane to solve the case, between wooing local heiress Katrina Van Tassel.
Written in 1820, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow soon captured the public's imagination with its story of a supernatural equestrian and his nightly quest to find his missing head. Nearly 200 years later it still manages to thrill and captivate new readers and audiences, especially during the year's spookiest holiday!
