We saw Journey and Def Leppard at the Sprint Center in Kansas City at their July 25,
2018 show. We are both Journey fans, and while we didn't set our expectations too
high we were still completely disappointed. I would like to say that I was able to tell
the difference between their new singer Arnel Pineda vs Steve Perry, but I couldn't
hear him over the crushing volume of Neal Schon's guitar. The setlist was great, if it
would have actually sounded like music, rather than just noise, it would have been
good. Def Leppard was awesome! The sound could have used slightly more
adjustments, but overall decent for a live show. We decided that we would go see
them again if they tour next year based on this show.

DEF LEPPARD ROCKED / JOURNEY MIX AWFUL
I went to Def Leppard / Journey at KFC -Yum Center on 7/11/18, primarily to see Journey
with drummer Steve Smith. Def Leppard was pleasant surprise and sounded great.
Journey was OK but their sound mix was atrocious! I was seated next to sound board and
kept looking at engineer to see if they noticed problem with mix. Nothing! How is that
possible for a band that has been touring for over 40 years? Steve Smith had nice drum
solo but appeared bored and disinterested other than that.

JOURNEY AND DEF LEPPARD
Def Leppard was awesome. The JOURNEY is
over. Very disappointing show. I left after
journey’s third song. Someone made the
sound guy mad. It was just blaring loud could
not hear the vocals, even what I heard was
terrible. The singer was struggling. Miss you

DEF LEPPARD GREAT! JOURNEY DISTORTED
Just like so many others experienced,
Def Leppard put on a 1st rate show
and Journey left me wondering who
was their sound guy. Their music was
distorted and It felt so wrong that DL
was the opening act. I will go see Def
Leppard again, I don’t think I can do
Journey ever again.

DR JECKYL & MR HYDE
Saw then in Pittsburgh, June 2. Everyone has
already said it. Def Leppard sounded
AWESOME. Journey was just awful. A 3 minute
guitar solo crammed into every song and just
terrible, overblown sound. Schon & sound
engineer both need to go. Going in I was
more excited for Lep, my wife for Journey.
She sang along with all the Def Leppard sins
then, 90 seconds into Journey's second song
she said "This sounds terrible. We can leave
whenever you want." We struggled through
and stayed until the end. After the show, she
said (and remember she was very excited to
see Journey) "I'd pay to see Def Leppard
again. I may never LISTEN to Journey again."
For me, that (sadly) summed it up. Def
Leppard was AMAZING, 5 Stars. Journey
SUCKED. 1 Star (5+1)/2=3 Stars

COULD HAVE BEEM GREAT....
I love these bands but the
distorted sound for both
Journey and Def Lepperd
was a real problem that
took away from the show.
Not sure if we should
blame closed dome or the
bands for this.

DEF LEPPARD/JOURNEY MAY 25TH, HERSHEY STADIUM
Def Leppard was phenomenal. Sound was great, band was just awesome, they sounded just great, so we were pumped for Journey! What a disappointment, to say the least. The distortion was aweful, sounded like drums weren't in synch with guitars and Schon was annoying. We came to see the BAND, not just him. They were so much better a couple of years ago, same venue. And we paid hard-earned $ for these tickets. Not again for a long while. :(
