James Taylor with Jackson Browne at ExtraMile Arena

Why see James Taylor with Jackson Browne?

James Taylor's American Standard Tour

Riding the crest of the transition between the tumultuous end of the summer of love and the psychedelic, navel-gazing 70s, James Taylor is the name that comes to mind when thoughts turn to the concept of the quintessential songwriter. Five decades later, the five-time Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is still writing, releasing and touring - don't miss him when he hits the road with fellow folk-rock icon Jackson Browne this summer! The tour comes fresh off the back of Taylor's 19th studio album American Standard.

Taylor started his ascent into the stratosphere with his breakthrough single 'Fire and Rain' in 1970 and over the course of his career became one of the best selling music artists of all time thanks to his heartfelt songcraft,  genial, infectious charm, and wholesome lyrical themes about kith and kin. On tour, the wise-cracking muso is sure to enchant with his guitar and voice-led classics as well as regale his adoring crowds with anecdotes and stories from his time as one of America's greatest and best-selling living musicians

Performances of impeccably quality

You can't fault these old geezers for the musical quality and nuance they both delivered, no doubt forged in their 40-50 year careers. Each put on an excellent show, each had a fantastic support band.. The sound system was also outstanding considering we were in a steel and concrete box arena. I've read some of the other reviews dinging them for their set lists. I am not a person who necessarily went to hear all the hits. I went to be entertained, and as noted, they both delivered. That said, I also thought JT's hot dog cartoon song was lame and the encore with his son seemed a little unrehearsed. Also the crossover songs were a mixed bag for me. JT was disappointing on The Pretender, but JB joining JT for Taking it Easy was excellent. Overall I'd recommend this concert highly to anyone seeking to be entertained, but perhaps not so much if you are expecting to spend a lot of time singing along to the hits from the 70s and 80s. ... Talent and Sound, These Two Delivered Both!

I’ve been to 6 JT concerts over time. He is and always will be my favorite musician. At age 73, James Taylor still makes my heart flutter and I’m 59…This concert packed a double punch of classic tunes and even a couple of new songs by Jackson Brown which were worthy of their debut at this event. The concert playlist included many of the classic older songs by both Taylor and Brown. Enjoyed every minute of this all star group of musicians and back up singers who delivered fresh and added talent to the whole show. Stand out solo guitarist player was beyond amazing! The added spoken banter between songs was heartfelt and authentic. Both artists seemed honestly happy to be performing again and their enthusiasm for giving their best was obvious. This concert was one of my favorites of all time. James, still has the “It Factor”! He is an amazing musician and if you’re a JT fan, you will definitely enjoy this concert! ... Read more

Jackson Browne my all time favorite!

Jackson was fantastic as usual and his new stuff is great. James Taylor was fabulous, the musicians over the top. My wife and I are older now, but we both agreed it was the best concert we’ve been to. ... Read more
